This term we're going on a mini-beast hunt. We will be exploring our woods, field, playground and pond areas, sweeping our nets and lifting up logs to see who's home in our school environment. Then we will be describing what they look like, comparing their habitats, thinking about what they eat and how they move.
Just like real entomologists, we will be asking and answering some research questions to learn about bees, worms and butterflies too. We will make food chains to show who eats who and carry out investigations to find out more, like how far a snail travels in a day and how a spider catches its prey.
