Churchill school educate our children in the importance of healthy lifestyles - eating a balanced diet, taking part in activities to promote the sustainable holistic healthy lifestyle, critical to the children's well being and happiness. Our children take part in cooking workshops and activity sessions - part of promoting the Change 4 Life initiative.
Churchill school take part in a county wide netball and football league, compete in regular hockey tournaments, cross country meets, tri golf competitions and dance productions, such as the Stag Love 2 Dance event in spring, and the Reception class dance show, STEP, in July. We also look forward to District Sports, held in Sevenoaks in the summer, with anticipation and excitement each year.
All staff wear Churchill black sports kit for PE. Staff change into and out of kit as well as the children, to promote healthy lifestyles and demonstrate the importance of self care. The children have a smart black and green PE kit, as well as trainers and are encouraged to bring spare pairs of socks in their PE bag in the event of playing on a damp field!
All our PE equipment is up to date, with new resources regularly replacing old.
We are lucky to offer a wide variety of extra-curriculum clubs and activities to all children, many of which are funded by the school using the sports premium funding.
We celebrate pupils' sporting achievements in worship and in the weekly newsletters.
Children who find sport challenging receive support in gross and fine motor skills to enable them to take an active role in PE lessons.
