Keeping Your Child Safe Online

Parents and Carers

Many issues that arise online can be quickly and simply solved by talking with both parties involved. Please feel free to contact the school and meet with your child's teacher if your child is having issues with other pupils online so that we can help.

As a parent or carer, in this fast changing world, you can sometimes feel that you do not know enough or how to keep your child safe online. The UK Safer Internet Centre is a site that is there to help YOU through the online maze. Please use the links below to access the main site and other important pages.

There is also a link to a useful publication from Vodafone about keeping your child safe online.

Extra tips:

Searching the Web

No search engine is ever 100% safe but there are some ways to search the internet more safely - for example, Google Safe Search can be turned on in the settings of the normal google page; cbbc also has lots of good research information.

Image Hunting

When looking for images, pics4learning is a good and safer source of images than just image searching on a normal search engine.

Gaming

When children are accessing games via Xbox LIVE, privacy settings can be set up.  To read more, click here.
