In Year 2 we begin using cursive handwriting. We have a list of 'Must-Haves' that we use each lesson to remind us of what we need to include in our written work.
We will be learning to read and spell the Year 2 common exception words. You can find a list of these words in the document below.
This Year we will be reading a range of different text types, including picture books, fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Below is a recommended book list for Year 2 for you to explore and enjoy. How many can you read? Which book is your favourite and why?

As in all units, pupils develop physical, social, emotional and thinking whole child objectives.
Dance
Pupils are learning to move in time to music, complete spins, steps sequences, plan movements, and careful feet and arm placement.
Dodgeball
Pupils are developing the skills that they learnt last term, continuing with invasion games, learning to read a game, tactics, accuracy of throwing , teamwork and building resilience.
