Term 3 - Electricity
In Science this term we will be learning:
- How to make a simple electrical circuit to light up a bulb
- What 'insulators' and 'conductors' are and identifying some examples of both
- Recognising and making different types of switches and then investigating whether the position of a switch in a circuit affects the brightness of a bulb.
This term we will be recognising that living things can be grouped in a variety of ways. In revisiting the 6 main animal groups: mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish and invertebrates the children will explore and use classification keys to help group, identify and name a variety of living things in their local and wider environment. When looking at rivers around the world, the children will make observations about how environments can change and that this can sometimes pose dangers to living things.
Term 1 - The Water Cycle
As part of our topic 'What makes water go round and round?' the children have been learning the stages of the Water Cycle and have written an explanation text using the correct scientific vocabulary.
