Lesson 2b: Computer Aided Design

Welcome to Lesson 2a

It looks like you had fun creating silly faces and collaging yourself with lot of features! πŸ‘€πŸ•ΆπŸ‘‚πŸ‘ƒπŸ‘„πŸŽ©

In this lesson we are going to be using your funny faces pictures and turning them into a piece which is inspired by Andy Warhol!

KEY VOCABULARY

Soon the list will be as big as the giants beanstalk!

  • CAD ( Computer Aided Design)
  • Repeating
  • Effects
  • Pop - artist

TASK 1 - RESEARCH - Andy Warhol

This lesson links to a famous artist called Andy Warhol.

Can you find out 3 facts about him?

Who is he?

Where is he from?

What does he do?

Look at his work?

What do you think

What mediums does he use?

What do you think of his pictures?

How does he use colour?

How do you think he creates the pictures?

TASK 2 (LOOKING): Have a look at these portraits which have been jazzed up by the computer!

What do you notice?

Is there anything particularly that caught your eye?

How do you think this art work has been created?

What do you think has been done to the pictures?

What is the effect of having repetition?

DEMONSTRATION STEPS

1) First, cut a picture of yourself onto a word document or powerpoint.

2) Next, right click the picture and you will see the artistic effects and colour button.

3 After that make the images bigger or smaller.

4) Repeat the pattern as many or as little as you like.

5) Play around with the artistic effects and colour. Create as many designs and patterns as you like! You may want to rotate the picture over the the top of the others!

TASK 3 - YOUR TURN TO DESIGN

Now have a go yourself.

Use the step by step guide to help you have a go at designing your CAD.

Here is Miss Francis' version above.

Enjoy having fun creating you own CAD design and be as creative as you can!

DICUSSION/REFLECTION

What did you find easy do? Why?

What effect did you use? Why?

What colours did you use? Why?

Did you create a pattern?

If so what pattern did you
