Fractions, decimals and percentages are filling much of the Maths Curriculum at the moment as pupils explore how we apply the four operations to numbers less than one. This becomes even more exciting when they apply the concepts to real life problems like feeding pets and shopping in the sales!

Why do we need to represent parts of number in so many different ways? We consider that number representations are like shoes – different styles suit different purposes.

In order to ensure that pupils remember their learning, we share thinking about neural pathways and what makes learning stick. To help us with this we mix up our learning, weaving in starters, challenges, quizzes and loop games all based around different topics.

And we learn how to play Battleships in four quadrants and even a circular compass linked grid!
