Term 3

Term 3

Our topic this term is "Are Carrots Orange?", which looks lots at food, where it comes from, how it is packaged and the huge variety of food we have. We will visit the CO-OP in Westerham and buy lots of new foods for the children to taste. 

In Physical Development this term we will be starting dance. The children will be creating their own dances based around different types of transport. We will also be continuing our Write Dance adding extra movements throughout the term. 

In Phonics this term we will be continuing to work on consolidating Phase 2 sounds and continuing to introduce Phase 3 sounds. We will use these sounds to constructs words and sentences, as well as to read simple words. 

In Maths we will be continuing to consolidate our number knowledge now looking at numbers beyond ten, we will be using these to count, add, subtract, match and problem solve. We will continue to look at weight, height, position, time, money, capacity, shape and patterns.
