General Presentation

We feel strongly that wearing smart school uniform helps children to foster a sense of belonging and one of pride in the school and in themselves.

As such, all children should arrive at school each day looking smart, clean and tidy in full correct school uniform. This is designed to be smart, hard wearing and practical, enabling children to focus on learning and playing rather than on fashion.

It is our expectation that parents of children at Churchill will fully support this ethos and we are grateful for their commitment to ensuring their children are properly dressed for the school day.

Hair Accessories

Hair which is long enough to be tied back should be secured with plain green or black accessories. This helps to prevent head lice from spreading between children and we would appreciate you co-operation with this. Spare plain bands are available in school and children who come in with long hair down will be provided with one and asked to tie it back.

Earrings and Jewellery

Where earrings are worn, they should be a single pair of plain sleepers. Other earrings are not acceptable. Children must be able to remove these themselves for P.E. lessons, or ensure that they have a role of micropore tape in their P.E. bag with which to cover them. Other jewellery should not be worn during the school day.

Make Up and Nail Varnish

Children should not wear nail varnish or make up to school. Nail varnish remover will be provided and children asked to remove their own if they come in with it on.
