A Child's War

In term 3, we have started a new topic known as 'Child's War.' We introduced the topic by asking the children to dress up as evacuees from World War II. This really engaged the children and excited them to learn even further all about World War II. The children were asked to bring a box of items that they would take if they were to be evacuated. This topic was linked with our English, as we've been reading Goodnight Mr.Tom. 

The children have researched all about the Battle of Britain timeline, the Blitz and written diary entries it would have felt to be an evacuee. Sycamore have made comparisons and connections between a war-time child and children of today. This really highlighted how different life was.
