Welcome to Redwood
The spring term is off to a good start and Redwood are really enjoying their learning! I am really pleased with the classes' focus on their learning and the progress that is being made.
Our history topic this term is General James Wolfe. The children have been enjoying learning about Wolfe's life, especially his early life in Westerham. In geopgraphy we will be doing a local study of Westerham so the children can learn more about where they go to school.
In Science the children we are exploring the topics Animals including humans. So far we have looked at the digestive system and teeth, and the children have enjoyed an experiment looking at the effects of different liquids on teeth. During the next half term we will be looking more at teeth as well as food chains. And, as usual, will be continuing to learn about a range of different genres and concepts in English and Maths.
A reminder that our P.E. days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Homework will be sent out on Fridays and is expected to be handed in on Wednesdays. Spellings and tables will also go home on Fridays. Tables tests will be on Thursdays and spelling tests will be on Fridays. We also expect children to be reading at home regularly and reading records will be checked on Wednesdays.
